Independent Living Skills Trainer

This position is designed to teach individuals with TBI and/or other disabilites and their supports more effective ways to manage activities of daily living including areas such as grocery shopping, money management and organization.  Hours are flexible and may include daytime, evening and weekend shifts.  Pay is $14.00 per hour for part-time.  Full-time salary is dependent upon applicant's abilities and experience.        

The qualifications required for this position are as follows: 

Applicants must be one of the following:

1.  Registered Occupational Therapist;

2.  Registered Physical Therapist;

3.  Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist;

4.  Registered Professional Nurse;

5.  Certified Special Education Teacher;

6.  Certified Rehabilitation Counselor;

7.  Master of Social Work; or

8.  Master or Doctorate of Psychology.

 

Along with the education component, applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience completing functionally based assessments, developing a comprehensive treatment plan and teaching individuals with disabilities to be more functionally independent;     OR

An individual with a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of similar experience;                               OR

 An individual with an Associates degree and three (3) years of similar experience;                          OR

An individual with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and four (4) years of similar experience.
