Are you a victim of Caregiver Burnout?

Constant care-giving can take a physical and emotional toll on those who are looking after their loved one.  Even if you area committed caregiver who finds care-giving rewarding, burnout can still occur.

So, what are some common signs of caregiver burnout? 

Symptoms may include:

  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Sleep issues (too much or not enough)
  • Feelings of being stuck in the situation and hopelessness
  • Resentment toward others who are not helping you
  • Loss of control of your life
  • Loss of independence


Caregivers may experience all or some of these symptoms.  Now that we have identified burnout signs, what are some things we can do to combat these feelings?  We will talk about that next time.
