Life Skills Training provides personalized support to help you strengthen independence, build healthy routines, and work toward goals that are meaningful to you.  Your Life Skills Trainer will work with you to develop a plan that reflects your strengths, interests, needs, and priorities.

You play an active role in shaping your training plan, allowing you to focus on the skills and goals that can make the greatest difference in your everyday life.

Building skills related to budgeting, spending, planning purchases, and managing everyday expenses.

📅 Planning & Organization

Creating routines, managing appointments, planning ahead, and developing strategies for completing daily responsibilities.

Getting Started With Life Skills Training

Getting started with Life Skills Training begins with determining eligibility and receiving authorization for services.  Venture Forthe can help answer questions about the process and work with you and your case manager as you get started.

  1. Enroll in Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program)
  2. Connect with a case management agency for assessment and service authorization
  3. Determine if Life Skills Training is right for your needs and goals
  4. Work with Venture Forthe to develop your individualized training plan
  5. Begin working toward your goals and greater independence 

Support as You Work Toward Your Goals

Building new skills takes time, practice, and encouragement.  Your Life Skills Trainer will work alongside you as you practice new routines, build confidence, and apply the skills you are learning to everyday situations.

Your goals may change as you make progress.  We’ll continue working with you to adjust your training plan when appropriate and keep your support focused on the areas that matter most to you.

Help Understanding Your Services

Understanding eligibility, authorization, and available services can sometimes feel complicated.  Our team can help explain the Life Skills Training process, answer questions, and work with you and your case manager as you navigate the approval and enrollment process.
